Dacasso in the White House Situation Room
One of our most notable clients for conference room accessories is the White House. Our Black Leather Conference Table Pads (P1010) have adorned the White House Situation Room since it was renovated in 2007. They’ve been in use protecting boardroom tables that presidents and other notable dignitaries have used on a regular basis.
The origins of the Situation Room began in May 1961, after the failed Bay of Pigs invasion. President Kennedy felt there needed to be changes in the way intelligence was being transferred and from there on, every department of the defense sector had to feed the Situation Room staff information, day and night.
Over the years, the president’s have used the room differently. President’s Kennedy, Nixon and Ford almost never used the room while president’s Johnson, George HW Bush and Clinton used it often. During the 2006 renovation, the most important change was the expansion of its use beyond the National Security Council to also include the Homeland Security Council and the White House chief of staff’s office.
The Situation Room continues to serve as a conduit for our National Defense and we are proud to provide protection to the tables in these most vital meetings.
